All South African students are required to attend an interview at the College with their parents.
What we are looking for is a willingness to give of your best and a firm commitment to make use of all that Abbotts College has to offer.
You will be required to attend College every day and to do all your work to the best of your ability. We place a great deal of emphasis on your individual effort and your teachers will rate you on this basis.
We regard learning as an interactive process and you will be expected to use all the channels offered by the College for you to get help from your teachers whenever necessary (we even give you teachers home telephone numbers!) You will find that the College will quickly enable you to develop a strong work ethic. This is essential for success at University or Tertiary College.
The proud history of the CLAREMONT CAMPUS is reflected in the truly outstanding results achieved by the students over the years. Such is the reputation of the College that several leading universities (including
Bond
University and the
University of
Port Elizabeth ) actually GUARANTEE acceptance to our students. In addition, Abbotts College remains one of the top three feeder schools to U.C.T. and is the largest Cape Town feeder school to
Rhodes
University .
The central location of the College allows students easy access from not only the Southern Suburbs but also from further afield as it is conveniently situated to both rail and bus routes.
The Campus is well equipped and boasts two modern computer laboratories as well as facilities for SCIENCE, ART and DESIGN.
Each year the College arranges a DYNAMIC EXTRA MURAL PROGRAMME and a variety of outings and activities are offered. Life skills programmes and career guidance form a central part of the College and these aspects as well as potential extra-murals will be discussed more fully at your initial interview with Mr Greg Fillmore, the College Principal.
Each student attends an interview at the College with his/her parents. At this interview the subjects which best suit the student’s needs and aspirations are selected. A programme is then designed to ensure that the student will ENJOY COLLEGE LIFE and be given the best opportunity to enter his/her chosen career. |
